I collaborated closely with the Imperial War Museum, immersing myself in a rich archive of WW1 artefacts. This research allowed me to craft visuals that honour historically authentic sources while infusing them with a bold, contemporary edge, creating a unique balance between reverence and modernity.

The challenge was to develop a brand that maintained a neutral stance, avoiding any bias towards one side of the war. After extensive research, we crafted a distinctive brand icon composed of three fundamental WW1 symbols: a sword, a baton, and a star. Each symbol, deeply rooted in military tradition, represents the commanding role the player assumes in-game, reinforcing the strategic leadership at the heart of the experience.

One of the most exciting aspects of the project was designing a physical gatefold vinyl for the game’s soundtrack. I leveraged our sleek, minimalist branding, blending it with retro-inspired layouts and carefully selected font pairings to create a striking, sophisticated design that felt both timeless and contemporary.

For the key art and marketing materials, we adopted a stylistic, painted approach to enhance the game’s historical authenticity, evoking the visual language of the era while adding a rich, artistic depth to the brand.
